"I come from a proud tradition of service. My father served his country in the armed forces and today serves as a pastor in a local Tallahassee church. My mother is an educator and together they have been small business owners for over 20 years. My eldest brother followed in my fathers footsteps and served his country proudly dedicating himself to three tours of duty in the middle east. We have always felt the need to serve and I imagine we always will. This, along with so many other reasons is why I feel so obligated to give back, to fight, to work, to prepare something for someone I might never meet." -Josh Johnson-

WHAT "WE" ARE FIGHTING FOR

EDUCATION

Tallahassee has some of the nations finest schools. My entire education from pre school to graduate school has been a result of the phenomenal educational opportunities afforded to this areas citizens. It should be our hope and greatest priority to maintain and add to the level of funding, care, and precision that goes into making sure our children are taken care of.

STATE EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION
This area has the largest economy of public sector workers in the State of Florida, yet somehow the conversation of raising the wages of state workers is always swept under the rug until election time. I work as a public sector employee and I know the amount of passion and effort that goes in to the work load. I also know all to well the feeling of being underappreciated and underpaid as a state worker. We must raise state worker wages and stop simply conversing about it. We must manage and facilitate opportunties where good, hard working people can not only be proud of what they do but proud of what they make.

TRANSPARENCY

Our government should work for us. Our government should deal with issues that matter to us. More importantly our government should be open and honest. The things passed by our legislature should not be secret or hard to understand to common everyday people. This is why as your elected REPRESENTATIVE I plan to tell you how I will vote, why I voted that way, and ask for your feedback.

ECONOMIC GROWTH/PUBLIC WORKS

Economic growth is essential to the lifeline of any city. This is why it is imperative that we engage local small businesses and large businesses, in cooperation with state and local governments to ensure growth. Public works projects have long been seen by many as a waste of time, but the beautification of a city not only adds to its environment and appeal, but it directly links to the morale of the city.

RETIRED AND SENIOR CITIZENS

This is a demographic very near and dear to my heart. Just like our children, it is imperative that we take care of those who took care of us. Retired and senior citizens in this area are arguably our most important and most forgotten demographic. With the hustle and bustle of our little big city it seems that in many ways we have let our fathers and mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers slip through the divits. It is time that we start looking at more comprehensive measures to lighen the load of our forefathers and foremothers.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
I have worked in the field of criminal justice in the capacity of President of Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency, Assistant to the director of administration for the Florida Parole commission, and the Keiser University Criminal Justice Advisory board. In this time I have encountered several facets of the system that lend themselves as top candidates for reform. Whether it be criminalization over treatment in terms of substance abuse and addictions or the current Clemency mandate that extends a sentence through the denial of restoring civil rights to a person that has served thier time and paid their debt to the state.
